Do you struggle with fear? Do you feel insecure? Ever felt incompetent? Ever felt emotionally helpless and empty from within?
Most of us did.
Negative thoughts come to us like a wave of ocean making us all drenched in it.
Now close your eyes and think about a glass of water on a table. Now imagine how a drop of ink diffuses in it. Slowly the ink spreads in wild patterns turning the clear glass of water blue. Is this how you feel each time you are filled with negative thoughts?
We all jump into the pool of negative thinking but it is not us intentionally doing it but rather it is our conscience. But how often or how less our conscience does that to us can be controlled by us. Our mental wellbeing is our need. Better peace of mind brings you better health which will indeed increase your efficiency to perform better in everyday activities. Negative thinking refers to a pattern of thinking negatively about yourself and your surroundings. Beyond the extent of definition what we are focusing here is about how it affects you and how we escape out of it. The scenario is much like an escape room where you surely know that keys are hidden right inside the room and all you need to work on is to find out where they are hidden and unlock ourselves.
Improving the quality of life is crucial. Happy you, better you. Your happiness or positive thinking is within your hands. First and foremost, we must understand how you think now because your conscience is your thinking. We tend to think a lot about the future, the inner instinct to know about the unknown, can put us in a catastrophic position. This pushes us to overgeneralize and make predictions of failure instead of focusing on the present and wasting your time and energy on pondering over something which is beyond your reach. From now on let’s channelize all the energy on working on your present to head towards the dream that you want as reality in future, each time you get anxious about it. Is it the anxiety about the present worrying? Are you feeling like you don’t fit in your realities or you don’t look good or that your boss fires you because you will get caught in traffic? There are also techniques to organize your life that will reduce your anxiety and worries. Nothing is impossible, remember? Or is it embarrassment or criticisms troubling you? But remember it’s your past.
Align your mind and soul to a common spot that they work in unison. When they both run in parallel, they keep quarreling with each other. All we need to do is focus on oneself, giving enough time to channelize them together. There is a method called cognitive reconstruction which is therapeutically done by cognitive-behavioural therapy which can systematically help you identify and change the negative thoughts through identification, evaluations and replacements of thoughts. There is also another therapy which will make you a stronger individual to face criticisms and rejection by enhancing your assertive defence of the self where your assertiveness skills are focused upon.
Remember the days when your class teacher used to share a thought for the day each day before she starts the class each day. Ever pondered on the importance of it. Reading a heartwarming quote can be a great remedy for improving your energy. Write a diary addressing your conscience and flush out all your negative thoughts in it much like the homework that you used to do during your school days but with much love. Don’t procrastinate here friends because you are becoming your own tutor. Mindfulness is your goal. Detach yourself from your thoughts and emotions and just be an observer to it. Meditate and let your worries float in the air. Bring in better days of peaceful moments and happiness.
